5lbs Ground Beef
1 – 28oz can Diced Tomatoes
1 – 28oz can Tomato Sauce
2 – 15oz cans Red Kidney Beans
2 Onions – chopped
3 Green Peppers – chopped
3-4 tablespoons Chili Powder
6-8 good “glugs” of Franks Hot Sauce
6 cups Water
Salt & Pepper as desired
Brown ground beef in dutch over and drain fat
Add onion and pepper and cook until tender
Add tomato sauce, diced tomatoes, water, and chili powder and let simmer until hot
Add kidney beans and hot sauce
Allow to simmer for about 45 minutes at 350 – stir occasionally
Serves 12-14 people or 6-8 hungry Boy Scouts!
Use large 16” dutch oven, cut back if using smaller dutch oven
12-14 bottom coals and 16-18 top coals
5lbs. Ground Beef
2 Onions – chopped
2 cans G=Cream of Mushroom Soup (condensed)
3lbs. Mixed Frozen Vegetables
1 Big Box of Instant Mashed Potatoes (prepare as directed)
16~24ox Shredded Cheddar Cheese (the cheesier the better!)
Milk – as needed for Mashed Potatoes
Margarine – as needed for Mashed Potatoes
Salt – Pepper – Seasoning as desired
Cook ground beef in dutch oven and drain most of the fat
Meanwhile, prepare mashed potatoes as instructed
Add onion and seasonings to beef cooking until soft
Mix together 2 cans of soup and 1 cup water and add to beef
Place/layer frozen vegetables over beef
Place/layer mashed potatoes over veggies
Place/layer cheese over potatoes (remember, the cheesier the better!)
Cook for 30-40 minutes at 350 until hot through
Serves 12-14 people or 6-8 hungry Boy Scouts!
