Cape Cod (in Eastham Mass.)

July 2007

We went fishing in Minister's Pond - Everybody caught fish!

Erianna gets the first fish (a pickerel)

Uncle Mike gives Jordyn some advice

Jordyn's first fish (a pickerel)

Connor gets a large mouth bass - the biggest fish of the day.

Returning the bass to the pond

Connor gets another fish (a pickerel)

Our first beach day - Great Pond - Sunny and 82, water temp 75

Next day, First Encounter Beach - Sunny and 85, Water temp, a refreshing 70

Connor and Jordyn each got buried in the sand.

Kicking back at the cottage

Another day at Great Pond with some croc wrestling - Crikey!

Next day was Marconi beach on the Cape Code National Sea Shore (in the general area of the Salt Pond Visitor Center on the linked map) - Water temperature, a balmy 60 with lots of 'mung' (a very fine moss like sea weed) - kinda yucky but that didn't keep us out of the water (but 3 rounds through the washing machine didn't get it all out of the bathing suits)

Sunset on First Encounter Beach

Sunset - Going, going, going....

Gone

Fishing on the Naviator (60 ft group fishing boat).  We all (Pat, Connor, Uncle Mike and Jordyn) caught one fish (not really worth $120 for 4 of us).  Fishing was slow for everyone on board.  Near the end of the trip they chummed the water and several small sharks were caught - including a pregnant one (see pictures below)

First Encounter beach again after the Naviator trip

Our last day on the Cape - We rented a small sail boat on Great Pond.  A stiff breeze made for a nice day.

Our last night out - our traditional dinner at Moby Dick's

An old fishing/lobster boat serves as a playground for the kids before/after the meal.
